Just Call Me Ranty McRantypants

If you hate all the “socialism” in our country…

  • Take your kids out of public schools.
  • Don’t use public utilities.
  • Don’t call the police or fire department when you’re in trouble.
  • Stay off the paved roads.

I think you get the picture.

Tell me if universal health care falls under one of these categories:

  • To form a more perfect union
  • Establish justice
  • Ensure domestic tranquility
  • Provide for the common defense
  • Promote the general welfare
  • Secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity

All you people bitching about the cost of health care, where were you when we got a war and tax cuts that REALLY put us in this hole? If you didn’t say anything about that then, just shut your piehole now.

  1. The problem is we didn’t get universal healthcare, we got universal health insurance. Huge difference there. The biggest result of this bill passing will be enormous hikes in health insurance rates, and employers discontinuing health benefits for their employees, none of which is good for anyone. I’m tired of the socialized medicine debate–no more half measures, just do something that will REALLY accomplish something other than making insurance companies richer.

  2. Possibly true, but it’s certainly not the end of the world like some people are painting it out to be. And agreed, what passed this week was not universal healthcare, but some seem to think it’s the “slippery slope to socialism” without realizing that “socialist” ideas have been around them all this time.

Thank you for your comments. =)
